Monks object to mobile phone deal
The former military-run nation decided to loosen its grip on the industry and award licenses to build and operate mobile networks.
Norway's Telenor was one of the two winners announced Thursday as well as Ooredoo of Qatar who's majority shareholder is the Qatari government.
Social networking sites were alight with criticism, with comments flooding the Facebook pages of government officials who posted the official announcement.
