Facebook is now officially a mobile company

At the time of its initial public offering last year, Facebook didn’t make any money from its users on phones. Now, for the first time, the majority of its advertising revenue (53%) comes from mobile. Quartz reports.

quotemarksright.jpgThe company just reported very strong fourth-quarter earnings: $0.31 a share on revenue of $2.33 billion. Those figures beat analyst expectations, and the stock is up more than 10% after hours.

Facebook’s growth, in revenue and users, can be attributed almost entirely to mobile. It had 945 million monthly active users on its mobile apps alone at the end of last year; 59% of them used the app every day.quotesmarksleft.jpg
